BRL K14101 version 2025 declared binding
The new BRL K14101 "Hygienic aspects for Products in contact with drinking and hot water" has been declared binding as of 7th of July 2025.
There are many different types of products that come into contact with our drinking and hot tap water.
For all these products, there are different BRLs (assessment guidelines) to certify these products.
In these BRLs, reference is made to BRL K14101 for the Hygienic aspects.
Note: De BRL K14101 is currently only available in Dutch. The Englisch version is in progress. As soon as it is available it will be published on the Kiwa Website.

Evaluation guideline changes
An evaluation guideline or ‘Beoordelingsrichtlijn’ (BRL) is a package of requirements that a product or service can meet to demonstrate a certain guarantee of quality and legality. Kiwa offers BRLs in various subject areas. The requirements in a BRL are drawn up by an independent Board of Experts. A product or service is assessed by Kiwa on the basis of those requirements. When we introduce a new BRL or when a BRL changes, we will publish these BRL's.
