Amendment sheet for BRL-K537 and BRL-KOMO 1149 are published for comments
An amendment sheet for BRL-K537 and BRL-1149 has been drafted and is published for comments as of 01/June/2024.
The amendment sheet concerns;
- BRL-K537/06 dated 2019-06-21 (Kiwa process certificate for processing of plastic foils)
- BRL-1149 dated 2019-06-21 (KOMO® process certificate for processing of plastic foils)
The proposed amendments are related to some of the testing requirements in these BRLs, namely;
- The frequency of weld testing has been reduced as the frequency stipulated in the above mentioned BRLs proved to be unfeasible.
- The min number of required test pieces has been clarified.
Submission of comments
The Board of Experts KGWW has assigned a comment period of 6 weeks from the date of this publication. Interested parties are invited to submit their comments on the proposed amendments before 15/July/2024.

Evaluation guideline changes
An evaluation guideline or ‘Beoordelingsrichtlijn’ (BRL) is a package of requirements that a product or service can meet to demonstrate a certain guarantee of quality and legality. Kiwa offers BRLs in various subject areas. The requirements in a BRL are drawn up by an independent Board of Experts. A product or service is assessed by Kiwa on the basis of those requirements. When we introduce a new BRL or when a BRL changes, we will publish these BRL's.
