From 1 April 2024 only companies and mechanics which are certified according to the SERMI (Security Related Vehicle Repair and Maintenance Information) guideline are allowed to work on components and software related to vehicle security. After purchasing your SERMI certification in the local webshop, you can have access to your SERMI portal. In the portal you can start onboarding for the SERMI certification as an company and as employee. Uploading documents and required information as part of the inspection, inviting employees for certification and purchasing new employees are among the options in your self-service portal. After approval of the company approval request and the employee approval request the employee will receive information to make a digital identity in the Digidentity app. This app will be used by the employee to show proof of certification by scanning a QR-code. The certificate is valid for a period of 5 years.
